I'm not computer savy, I have a web designer and look around to hire others that have the necessary skills in a particular area.

But here is my deal...

I am looking to make a chatroulette type of site that allows for Guests as well as actual members. I am running off SQL Server 2008.

1. Is this going to be a problem with SVC-SR?

2. Who do I contract out to that has the qualifications to deal with this area? I would imagine you have to be trained in Flash Programming(for my custom modifications), SQL Server 2008 R2, and ASP.NET MVC 3.0 Razor View(my site).

Nickname Problem with RVC4.0 Opensource

I am trying out RVC before purchase,

I have install it and using stratus,
this is the test page:

Stratus OK
System folder OK

and when i get back to index.html,it works but when i press start,it pop up a window and require a nickname(since i havent found how to disable it for RVC4.0)...after type in a nickname, the cursor change to a clock and keep spinning non stop....

RVCS not connecting anymore

Hello,

we use RVCS on our website for quite a while now:

After a server change three days ago RVCS is not working anymore. It used to work perfectly before (CentOS linux with Simple Control Panel at GoDaddy) and now stopped working (CentOS linux with Parallels Plesk at GoDaddy).

Folder permissons are OK (/files-folder is created and filled with files perfectly). Adobe Cirrus Key is fine, the HTML code and PHP configuration wasn't changed at all (compared to the working version before).

But if you press "start" now, the button shortly changes to "Again" and switches back to "Start". No connection is established anymore.

Firewall is not used.

What can be the reason for this misbehaving of RVCS?

Hello, I have an idea for a cam service that I think could be very popular. It involves a chatroullete type service where users can "tip" each other. The novelty of the website will be exactly what (currency) the users will be tipping with. I do not want to give specific details publicly.

I assume this would be pretty easy to do with a few tweaks with the current software? Payments will be done with public-key cryptography and virtual wallets.

All I need is a willing individual to tweak the videosoftware here to allow for payments. Ideally, there would be a simple button that any user can press to send a micropayment.

so far, i was able to install and setup everything. Maybe we want to do a full Joomla integration (so that it use the same user-database), is there any tutorial or any similar instructions to do that?

Another big problem are the text advertisements, its very handful to change some texts in the language ini-files, but we cant find the running advertisements that comes up every 30 (?) seconds when there is no chatpartner. I tried to set up the main-file in Flash Builder like in the tutorial and searched all tables for strings like "FIND YOUR DATE" and "LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT GIRL?" - but there was also just displayed the ini-files. Is this in some external html/php input?

software does not start (unresponsive)
possible cause: you are running on Android tablet/phone and the camera check is not implemented for this OS (will be included after version 0.8)
solution: turn off camera check for testing only, camera/sound won't work
software starts but does not connect AND texts are missing (buttons empty)
possible cause: config.xml is not readable by the application
solution: check the file permissions and rights with your system admin
- some users reported the same issues on ngix
- moving the chat to the root folder from a directory may help (move the software from yourdomain.com/chat to yourdomain.com)

possible cause: config.php is not configured
solution: create the MySQL database and fill the database details in config.php or connect to a remote web service trough config.xml

Editing layout with flash Catalyst.. errors

I thought giving Flash Catalyst a try since the visual editing options of Flash Builder Enterprise 1.6 still not good and break things if you move elements around.

Getting all kinds of errors with importing the FXP into Flash Catalyst, Is this fixable or should I not try to edit them with Flash Catalyst anyway?

Steps taken:
* Open original FXP into flash builder
* Setting compiler options to SDK flex 4.51
* Setting global style to "wireframe" ( required by Flash Catalyst)
* Exporting to Fash Catalyst
* Importing in Flash Catalyst
* Getting a list of style errors and other issues:

Development: Flash media builder interface design / flash catalyst

I never had much with Flash, now flash media builder is nice code editor but the editing of the visual windows is kinda terrible. If you move things to far or out of order things break up. Tried to alter the SVC latest layout a bit for testing and fun but it broke again.

So now I look into flash catalyst to be able to edit the user interface with that hoping it delivers a better solution.

What do you guys and the creators of SVC RVC use for editing the visual layouts of the screens? Flash builder or something else ( Flash Catalyst maybe )?

What would be the right way to set the locale in Adobe Flash Builder ( using 4.6 premium with flex sdk 4.6 currently)

Ive changed the compiler settings and removed en_US to fr_FR for french, my language of birth. However no strings appear then.

Also there is
svcroot/locale
svcroot/src/locale

Why 2 different folders?
I have to read up on flex development but would be nice if this could be clarified. Also Im looking ( later on ) to have the language changed with the use of a url posted parameter but I'm sure theres enough flex tutorials on that one

SVC SR - Direct one-to-one video chat

I have SVC SR 0.7.1
It is making random chat between users, on clicking next it picks up an available user and selects it for chat.

In my case i want to set up direct one-to-one chat. I want just two users are passed to video chat from my mysql database and they are connected for video chat. No next button required to pick a user randomly.

How can i do this.. Please guide me on this.
