The old DNS names for the codename Cirrus service (formerly codenamed "Stratus") are deprecated since Q2, 2011 and all supported software should use "p2p.rtmfp.net" as used by RVC, SVC and other software discussed here.

With the new SVC libs, running on Adobe© Cirrus, the connection is instant (no visible delays), unless you set a waiting time to give users time to receive incoming calls from others. Here is an example with a delay set to 1 second: http://demo.videosoftware.pro/svc/layouts/crc/VideoChat.html

Test is with two -or more- computers and the connection should be instant. After you press NEXT, the software will wait 1 second than connect you to your partner. The delay may be useful for demo/testing or to read the system messages.

This 1 second delay can be set to 0 (zero) and connection will be instant, as fast as a blink. We still remember the long waiting times and all the problems reported with Stratus/Cirrus but these are long gone ...
I love video chat!
